Adding a Credit Card to a Customers Account

Vision does not actually store the Credit Card on file it will store a reference token to access the information on the processor's site for future use.  The credit cards are stored in the Customer's Account under the [F6] CCard area.  To get the lowest rate possible make sure the Credit Card token information is as complete as possible(remember more information and details on a saved credit card token will lower your rates - even a scanned card can benefit from more information - use theEdit optionto enter  as much information as possible).

A Credit Card can be saved on a customers file from the Customer File and from the [F12] Crediting Customer screens -in the future the system will prompt to save the Card to file when accepting payment at point of sale or applying a deposit on a open sale with the Deposit Utility

The first process outlined is the process of adding a CC to a customers file manually, the linked sections outline the recommended processes for updating or replacing existing Credit Card tokens.  The example shown is of a Virtual Merchant (web interface) configuration.

Go to the Customer File screen and select[F6] Ccard

OK: [Ctrl] and [Enter] to save and exit the Credit Card list for the customers account
New F2:  to add a new Credit Card token to the customer's saved file manually
Edit F4: to edit an existing Credit Cards details on the customer's saved file(note: even if the token was scanned use the Edit option to update any additional information to get the lowest rate possible)

Replace F6: to replace an existing Credit Card that this token references (used especially if the token is tied to a specific recurring bill)
Select F8:  when using the saved Credit Card token to process payments to select the highlighted Credit Card
Check/Car F9:  switches the list between stored Credit Card Tokens and stored Check information
