Hardware Requirements

 

 

Workstation OPERATING SYSTEM

Windows 8 and 10 (7 will only be supported until January of 2020)

Needed features in Windows: .NET framework 3.5 and above

 

Specification range of hardware:

·         Operating System: Windows 10 x64

o   Minimum: Home

o   Recommended: Pro

·         Ram:

o    Minimum: 4gb 

o   Recommended: 8gb or Higher

·         Processor: Intel or AMD

o   Recommended: within the last few generations of their primary line

·         Hard drive:

o   Minimum:  250gb

o   Recommended: Solid state (SSD) at 250 or higher

·         Network:

o   Minimum: 100mbs (Wired Only unless running Remote Desktop(RDS))

o   Recommended: 1024mbps / 1 gbps (Wired Only unless running RDS)

 

Workstations in the network that access Vision via Remote Desktop will need RDC 6.0 or better. Most have this but some older systems might need to be manually updated. For workstations that access Vision through a file share there are some additional features that are necessary. Please see the following list for those features

We also recommend that Windows updates are current due to the ever changing world we live in and the constant updates of threats and technology.

Note:

1) Please Keep the OS install directory (Normally “C:” drive) above 5gb of usable free space at any time, whether Vision is ran from directory or not

2) A fresh copy of vision will normally take about 500mb of drive space on installs.

 

 

 

 Server OPERATING SYSTEM

Windows Server 2012 / 2012 R2, 2016, 2019

Specification range of hardware:

Minimum: Microsoft’s Requirements to run their server OS.

Recommended: Terminal server licensing to allow Vision to run in that environment.

 

Note:

1) Please keep the OS install directory (Normally “C:” drive) above 5gb of usable free space at any time, whether Vision is ran from directory or not

2) Not ran in a virtual environment under most circumstances.

3) Please work with an IT company in determining proper server specs and necessary setup and installation.
