Overview:
Out within the Pluss commerce site admin page http://plusscommerceadmin.azurewebsites.net , there is a section called Site Pages. This area is where you add/remove and manage pages and the design behind them on the website. They can be created and not published (Active) on the site, as you test and see what data as a Provider you want to put in them for your customers.
There are 3 special pages that will require special names for proper appearance on the site. They are HEADER, FOOTER, and DASH.
HEADER will replace the default Header with a custom header.
FOOTER will Add a custom footer above the default footer.
DASH will add content to the Dashboard page (which is also the starting page for the site).
Site Pages
Click Manage Site Pages to access the Pages Editor area.
All of the pages created will be shown in this area. For here the user can start a new page, edit an existing page, Publish (put a page online), UnPublish (take a page offline), Revert a publish or Delete a page.
In the Published Status Column, If a draft has been started, but not published, this is indicated.
Start a new page
Clicking Start a new page button will prompt for a name for the page.
It is highly suggested to use a “web safe” name, limiting the use of special characters that may not be friendly for web access..
After entering a name for the page, and clicking Save As… the editor will be opened.
From this page the user can begin design of the new page using the editor controls in the top ribbon.
Images can be added to the page using the image button:
This will open the image dialog:
For this editor, images can be added from two locations, the local computer or from the web (using the image url).
For adding images from the local computer, click Browse to open an explorer window to select the image. Most image formats are supported. The image selected will be uploaded to the server for use by the Pluss Commerce site.
After it is uploaded, it will be visible to preview.
Clicking More Options will allow the user to change some layout and style settings for the image. Clicking OK will add the image to the page.
Using images from the web are accessed similarly. Add the url to the image to the url field, then click ok to add the image.
The image can be dragged to a different place on the page.
The page data is saved automatically (approximately every 30 seconds), but is is necessary to click the Save Draft to insure the changes are saved for that page and used when the page is published.
There are 3 tabs on the bottom of the editor window. The Design tab is used to enter and adjust layout of text and images.
The HTML tab allows you to change the underlying html that will be used to display the page on the web.
From here the user can edit the underlying HTML for the page.
The preview tab will show what the finished page should look like.
If references to elements used in the CSS (themes) are made in the editor, this page editor will not render them. For this it will be necessary to publish and view the page on the site where the CSS will be rendered.
Clicking Return to list will return the user to the pages listing.
If the draft was not saved, the user will be prompted that the page was not saved.
If the page is not saved (by clicking Save Draft). Or connection to the admin site is lost or terminated. A notification of an autosaved draft will show in the list.
In order for the latest changes (not saved) to show when the new page is published, this page must be opened, and the draft saved by clicking Save Draft.
