Importing the Inventory excel file (IINVEN.XLS) into Vision

In order import the inventory excel file into vision, you must first have filled in the iinven.xls template that was provided to you.  Once that is finished, do the following steps.

 

NOTE:  All users must be out of vision.

 

1.  Copy the IINVEN.XLS file into the Vision Folder.

 

2.  At the main menu of Vision, press U to go into utilities

 

3.  Press I to go into Quickbooks-Excel Import/Export

 

4.  Press G to go to Excel Import

 

5.  Press A to import Inventory

 

6.  Answer N to use Excel Version 7

 

7.  Press B to import existing file as is

 

8.  Answer Y to import IINVEN.XLS after exiting excel

 

9.  Select one of the following

 

    A.  If you are importing parts

    B.  If you are importing Labor

    C.  If you are importing Vehicles

 

10.  On Existing parts update all Data, answer Y

 

11.  Are you sure you want to update inventory from this import?  Answer Y

 

12.  When the progress finishes, it will provide you with the number of records imported.

 

13.  Go into Utilities, K file utilities, B reindex all data files.  Answer Y to continue and run Utility and put in the File Access code of PTM-FAC.

 

14.  Once indexing is finished, go in and check to ensure that it's correct.
