The following information will assist you in importing customers and vendors into vision from their respective xls template files.
NOTE: YOU MUST HAVE EXCLUSIVE USE TO PERFORM THESE IMPORTS. NOBODY ELSE CAN BE IN VISION.
1. Copy the saved files into the vision folder (make sure that they are saved as excel 5.0/95 and the names are saved exactly as provided)
2. Go into Vision and press U to go to Utilities.
3. Press I to go to the Quickbooks-Excel Import/Export
4. Press G to go to Excel Import
5. To import Customers, press B (If importing Vendors go to step 6)
A. Answer N to use Excel Version 7
B. Press B to import existing file as is
C. Answer Y to Import after closing ICUST.XLS
6. To Import Vendors, press C
A. Answer N to use Excel Version 7
B. Press B to import existing file as is
C. Answer Y to Import after closing IVENDOR.XLS
7. Once you are finished with your imports, go to U for utilities, K for file utilities & B reindex all data files. Answer YES to run the utility and type in the file access code of PTM-FAC. The system will now reindex. Once that is finished check your customers & vendors to ensure they are all correct.
